Period Analysis: Period 8 - The Great Baka Rangers Final Exam Operation (part 2)
First of all, I would like to take a moment to say that this is the 50th post on Negima! LOVE!!! Isn’t that great!? Now’s a better time than ever to jump on the Negima! bandwagon by either going and reading it online at Manga Fox, or go and watch the anime (not as good as the manga) at ZOMG Anime .
Anyways, last chapter we left off with the baka rangers, the library exploration club and Negi venturing into library island. We go into this chapter with Yue educating the group on interesting facts about Library Island, such as the fact that it’s the biggest in the world.
After getting to the boundry they aren’t supposed to cross as middle schoolers, Negi gets excited about a rare book on a shelf, which sets of a security arrow that goes flying from the shelf. Thank god for Kaede’s ninja skills that save him from the near fatal incident.
Negi finally realizes what they’re after, and starts telling off Asuna before misunderstanding her as doing a good deed towards him. (pshaw, as if Negi!) Yue flops out a map that tells them how to get to the magic book and back within four hours.
Everybody is eager to get going, except for Makie, who nearly falls into a trap in the first 10 seconds. She steps on another trap in the next ten seconds which sets off an avelanch of books, which the baka rangers take care of with barely a flick of the wrist.
Negi falls off of the bookshelves, and after being cought by Asuna, reveals that he is nothing more than a normal little ten year old without any extrordinary athletic ability when he has no magic. With Negi as a normal, stupid little kid, Asuna takes a more motherly role and starts helping him through obstacles in the library.
They all decide to have a picnic at a rest stop in the middle of the library. After a bit of mid library pondering, Negi tells Asuna of his suspicions that this library is not normal, and that it in fact as a lot of magical energy around it.
The rest of the group are wondering why Negi and Asuna are whispering, and after Asuna’s hasty excuse, Negi blurts out about how nice she smells before she shoves a sandwich down his throat.
Next they climb over 100 ft high bookshelves, walk through a knee deep lake, scale down the 100 ft bookshelves, and crawl in between 2 floors 2 feet away from each other. While in the small tunnel, Yue tells them that they are the first from the school to explore this deep, as nobody else can fit into this compact of a space.
They finally reach the magical book, deep within the library. They all go running to grab the book when the floor disappears and they fall down onto a new platform. Who’s ready for a lovely game of Twister? A giant rock monster appears from behind them, scaring the stuff out of them.
Here’s something interesting; Negi says that the voice of the rock monster sounds familiar. Ku:Nel San was actually supposed to appear in these chapters, but was cut for some reason or another. I’m wondering if this robot is actually Ku:Nel.
The object of the game is to translate the words the monster gives you from Japanese into English. Ready? first word : difficult. They got that one correct. 2. Cut - correct, etc. They get to the final question - dish. the correct answer is osara, but they get it wrong by putting in osaru instead. They got it wrong, so the monster hit the platform with a giant hammer sending them all to their doom!
Continued in the next period. (Subscribe if you wanna come see it next time!)

Everyone is baffled by the triange attack, and a handful more people get out (2-A students of course). The score is now 2-A 11, 2-D 10.
